Welcome back to my blog everyone! I’m super excited to show you guys the first song I decided to write about. I originally heard this song in the back of a scene on a movie that I was super obsessed with this summer. It fit so well with what was going on in the movie and I immediately had to Shazam the song to find it. It’s one of those songs that you envision yourself blaring while riding in your car on a summer night.
The song is “Saturdays” by Twin Shadow featuring Haim. I have always been into 80’s and 90’s music, so this song had me hooked as soon as I heard the guitar in the very beginning. It has an old vintage type of sound. However, everyone I have showed it to has loved it just as much as I do. It is such a fun-sounding song that makes you want to yell it with your friends. It’s an alternative/pop song with a surprisingly smooth tone to it. I swear that every time I listen to it, I get sad as soon as it ends.
The band Twin Shadow was created around 2006. They really are not a well-known band, but with their songs starting to feature on more popular movies, I could see them continuing to grow in popularity. In fact, the other day I heard “Saturdays” playing in Target and freaked out. This song influenced me to check out more of their music and I have honestly enjoyed a lot of their stuff. They have a super cool alternative vibe to them. If you are looking for a summer anthem or a feel-good song to listen to in the Spring then I highly recommend checking this song out! If you do end up giving it a chance, let me know what you guys think of it!
